After a long flight home from Bali, I woke up a day later to my favorite weekend in Santa Barbara, Summer Solstice. I was excited to get back into the swing of things here in SB and delighted that I had a second opportunity to paint in the Funk Zone. Laura Inks, the program director for the Funk Zone Community Art Project approached me for a weekend of painting during the Solstice festivities. Between hanging out with the other artists while we worked and the parade, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. My piece is a traditional homage to my town and all my friends who call them selves locals.
