Acacia Swimwear 2013

I am so delighted and inspired to share Acacia Swimwear's new 2013 line on Mischief. I am still in need of my own Acacia and have not purchased one yet but every photo that I post makes me want one that much more. I swear I need a bikini jar at my house for loose change and dollar bills. This year, Lyndie and Naomi are introducing cover ups and a couple new prints... I am sure you can tell which print I like from the photos I chose, but I am stoked to see these new additions to the line. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Serenity

As the New Year is approaching, most of us goal oriented folks are looking to make a shift and find an opportunity to grow. Half of 2012 has been all about growing for me, shedding layers off my emotional onion, and aligning myself with my highest energy and power source- which has been exhausting to say the least and I still feel like I have barely cracked at this damn thing. I am making an effort on Mischief to connect more with my readers this year and be more true to my authentic self. For the past five years, this blog has been a compilation of all the various forms of inspiration that enter into my life on a daily basis and I am hoping to make it something more and I hope you will support me on this journey however it unfolds on here.

In 2012, the Serenity Prayer kept me afloat at times when I felt helpless and confused. The truth is, most of my suffering has came from trying to control situations that are beyond my control. Does this sound familiar? We all do it, just some more than others depending on our situations. When I become upset about a particular situation, I start by asking myself if it is something that is within my control? Am I trying to control something that is beyond me? Most of the time the answer is yes and I have to surrender the thought over to my Higher Power and trust that She (my inner Godess whom others may also call their Soul perhaps) will take care of it. That is as simple as it gets. Sounds easy right? You wouldn't believe how many times I have to go through this process on daily basis. Either way, this prayer and Mantra has given me great relief and I hope to continue to use this tool daily.

Are you working on any goals for this New Year?

Repeating the Serenity Prayer is defiantly something I plan on doing this year. Please keep in mind that I am not trying to push one certain faith, this is just something that has worked for me and given me tremendous relief in my daily affairs. Cheers & To Each His Own.

Surfboard Art

Drawing seems to be my one true creative pastime that I really enjoy. Every time my boyfriend gets a new surfboard, it stares back to him and I like a blank canvas. I received a couple of tips from my surfer buddies, especially Aaron Ernst, and purchased some Posca paint pens. They work really well on the surface of the foam board and are durable in the harsh salty sea water. I enjoy taking commissions when I have free time so please contact me if you want me to draw something on your surfboard.

A Love Story by Alyssa Ferguson

Wintertime always makes me wish it was warm out. I know, I know- I should enjoy the cold weather, appreciate the change in seasons, put on some fuzzy kooky hat, but you know what? It just makes me wish I was on the North Shore of Oahu every year, where the waves are perfect and the sun invites the tinniest bikini to come hang out. My cousin Melissa over in Maui always shows me all the Hawaiian artists that she obsesses on and I would have to agree, I have a new obsession with A Love Story by Alyssa Furguson. Follow up on Apple Cider Vinegar cleanse ...

Hello there peeps! So I just wanted to follow up on my post a bit back regarding the apple cider vinegar cleanse. I had to switch things up because the vinegar was making my tummy hurt so I am taking a break off that and switched to unfiltered apple juice. I am working on my tolerance for the vinegar and will resume the cleanse once I feel like I can drink it every day:) For now, this is a great substitute.

From the nets "According to the leader of a study, Dr. Jan Oszmianski, "Cloudy apple juices contain much more antioxidant than clear." Dr. Oszmianski is a researcher in the Agricultural University of Wroclaw. Researchers reported that Oszmianski's team found that cloudy apple juice contained up to four times the level of poly-phenols, a group of antioxidant plant compounds. In experiments, cloudy juice was more effective as a free radical "scavenger" than clear apple juice. There are researchers at the University of California-Davis that fairly recently reported that apples and apple juice may help protect arteries from harmful plaque build-up. The Heart of Hawaii:: Hana

Hana is a special place in Hawaii that holds such rare natural beauty it is easy to get lost in it. The trip to Hana is bumpier and windier than most but worth all the car sickness. We drove to Haleakala National Park and went for a hike to Maui's largest waterfall, Waimoko Falls at 400ft tall. I have been to Maui several times in the past but never to this one waterfall. I was amazed by its beauty and how easy the hike was to get there. On the way, Melissa, my Mother, and I stopped off at a couple of sites and ate some Thai noodles from a lady straight from Thai Land. The day was amazing and I got some great pictures. Here are some photos I took throughout the day.
