Burton "Love" Series causing some heat

Check out these fly snowboards from Burton's 09 LOVE series. I think they are pretty dope, however some peeps in the industry are just plain hating. I have been reading all this BS about their marketing strategies & that its not artistic. Who cares??? Naked woman have been a key figure in art since the beginning of time, if not the most painted thing out there. Either way, I am obsessed & think it is totally artistic. Homeboys trying to call out Hugh Hefner for not being artistic. LOL! Now I gotta figure out how to ride one of these sluzies. :)

OBAMA CLEANS UP THE ELECTION

Barak Obama Elected President of The United States on November 4, 2008.
Did you know that JFK used to play football on the lawn of The White House every Sunday with his bros? I hope Obama plays basketball at The White House. Maybe he will invite Kobe. That would be sick. I am sure he could show him how to dunk or something cool. At least to get that foo on the court of the LA Lakers with Jacko.

Oprah was pissing her pants yesterday. Will she have another rager in Cito now that he is prezzy? Hope so!!

One person Barak forgot to thank last night... Sherpard Motherfuckin' Ferry!!!
Let's just remember that the famous artist & propaganda leader created the iconic image that was spread across the country at every urban outfitters in the US for hipsters to rally with.

God bless Obey. Barak- Props are needed.

Stevie Cab At Black & Brown Gallery

Other than being one of the most OG skaters in skateboard history, Steve Caballero has made yet another one of his passions sucessful.. ART!

Gas, Gears, and Grease, the photography of professional skateboarder Steve Caballero, comes to Black and Brown in San Jose this Saturday, November 1st.

Gas, Gears, and Grease will run thru December 15th, 2008.
More on Cab at his personal blog.

As one of my co-workers, Steve Cab and I became acquainted at this past September ASR. All we really talked about was art, duh, and I could tell he was really ampted on his new stuff, he defiantly showed me some sick pics on his lappy top. Definitely a rad dude whom I will continue to support. Not to mention, Hot Rods are bad ass!

Fresh Faces in Fashion

This Friday, Rachel and I attended Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion, hosted by Mandy Moore.

The fashion show was fun, but what was more fun was scoping the party for fashion mishaps, or what Nick Frost has described as being 'Fresh' - The Man Band. The Man Band is what fashionistos wear around their perfectly cut fo-hawks to compliment their amazing outfit, or just tie it together with an edge of hipster style. Either way, Rachel and I thought it was GAY! I definatley don't' want my beau wearing a Man Band. Even if it is Fresh, leave the oober cool head accessories to me and my chicas, unless it is a bandanna, now that is SEXY punk rock status= Hottie!

Here are a few highlights from the night....

Mandy Moore on the scene, guys be jocking!

Gangster!

Her glasses were sick! With Gems! BeDazzle My Dizzle!

MAN BAND OFFENDER!

Say "No" to weird, ugly hats~

Mr. Cartoon bandanna, One Word= DOPE!

Her tights were pretty tight, with the Fall Season here, cute decrotive tights are a must!

Joe Shea participating in Noche De Los Muertos

It's offical! My piece "Violetta" is finally up at Muddy Waters for you to go check out and critique. This is my first show, as well as my first painting this size (3ft X 3ft)- I can't wait for the feedback!

I went by Muddy Waters yesterday and there was some pretty sweet stuff up, including three Halloween inspired pieces by Joe Shea. Definitely worth checking out, the installation reminded me of Jack the Pumpkin Head in Sleepy Hallow- another one of my favorites by Tim Burton.

On another note, Anne Hathaway has just signed off to do Tim Burton's new film Alice in Wonderland starring as the White Queen. CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS ONE TO COME OUT!

My New Piece "But'trfly"

For Rachel's B-Day, I decided to paint her a little BABY LOVE tribute...

I spray painted the back ground on a piece of wood, followed by acrylic paint... it is about 3 ft by 1 ft approx.

Again, I love Mandy and the bigger the better!

First Thursday ...

Sean & His Bro

I will start off by saying that my First Thursday was a blast!

Vanessa and I started the night off at Sullivan Goss to support my good friend Sean Anderson. His piece was a hit and was commended by Frank Goss, the owner of the gallery, whom he believes is one of the select few whom will rise to art stardom. All of the SBMS crew was there with their family's in support of Sean. I must say, he does have lots of friends who love him, dearly.

Followed by that, we headed over to former True Grit owner Wallace's Soup Show. Not going to lie, but I am a little board with his stencils and pieces. Either bust out a new style or make some more T-Shirts! But hey that is just my opinion.

Corey Helford Gallery presents Black Sugar, a solo exhibition of new works by Los Angeles artist Joshua Petker opening this Saturday, October 4th, 2008.

For his first solo show in LA, as well as at Corey Helford, Petker creates an ethereal world filled with mysterious muses and enchanting sirens that is as colorful and opulent as the neon palette he paints from.

Influenced by history, fashion, and the pursuit of beauty, the artist infuses his imagery with a potent mix of lost love, stolen hearts, sexual longing, and spiritual death.

Black Sugar reveals a secret garden filled with Petker’s signature dark flowers, while expanding the visual vocabulary of his landscapes with the introduction of new elements such as unicorns, butterflies and wolves.

The exhibition will feature Petker’s acrylic-on-panel works in a larger size and scale than before, as well as unveil a limited-edition giclee print available in four colorways.

Black Sugar opens to the public on Saturday, October 4 from 7 to 10pm, and the exhibition will be on view until October 22, 2008.

Finding A Muse

First off, I have to introduce you to Mandy. Mandy and I met back in Arizona when I was surfing the web for pin-up chics. I don't know how I found her, but when I did, it was love at first sight. From that moment on, my life was changed, forever. I couldn't get her out of my head, and the more I sought her out, the more I learned about her. I can't take credit for creating Mandy, props to Dean Yeagle, however, I can introduce her to my friends and make her my own. She opened up my world to a whole new genre of art and ignited some kind of sexual artistic passion back into my soul. I hope I can do the same for you.
