Acacia Swimwear 2013

I am so delighted and inspired to share Acacia Swimwear's new 2013 line on Mischief. I am still in need of my own Acacia and have not purchased one yet but every photo that I post makes me want one that much more.  I swear I need a bikini jar at my house for loose change and dollar bills. This year, Lyndie and Naomi are introducing cover ups and a couple new prints... I am sure you can tell which print I like from the photos I chose, but I am stoked to see these new additions to the line. I hope you enjoy the photos.

A Love Story by Alyssa Ferguson

Wintertime always makes me wish it was warm out. I know, I know- I should enjoy the cold weather, appreciate the change in seasons, put on some fuzzy kooky hat, but you know what? It just makes me wish I was on the North Shore of Oahu every year, where the waves are perfect and the sun invites the tinniest bikini to come hang out. My cousin Melissa over in Maui always shows me all the Hawaiian artists that she obsesses on and I would have to agree, I have a new obsession with A Love Story by Alyssa Furguson. Alyssa creates beautiful hand-knit crochet bikinis and thongs and sells them through her Etsy shop. Let's be up front here, HER STYLE IS MAGICAL, ON POINT, BEAUTIFUL, WHIMSICAL. I love- and I know you do too. Enjoy.

Can't stop jockin' on Gypsy One check her out.... More posts to follow!

The Heart of Hawaii:: Hana

Hana is a special place in Hawaii that holds such rare natural beauty it is easy to get lost in it. The trip to Hana is bumpier and windier than most but worth all the car sickness. We drove to Haleakala National Park and went for a hike to Maui's largest waterfall, Waimoko Falls at 400ft tall. I have been to Maui several times in the past but never to this one waterfall. I was amazed by its beauty and how easy the hike was to get there. On the way, Melissa, my Mother, and I stopped off at a couple of sites and ate some Thai noodles from a lady straight from Thai Land. The day was amazing and I got some great pictures. Here are some photos I took throughout the day.

Lahaina Side

Today my mother and I spent the day in Lahaina on the west side of Maui. I was overwhelmed with all the galleries and art there is here on the island. It was a pretty inspiring day to say the least.

looks like Shepard or his army has been around. I spotted about 4 Andre the Giants around Front Street

The most impressive gallery that I went into on Front street was Martin Lawrence Gallery . They had Takashi Murakami (one of my faves), Warhal, Rembrant, Picasso, and many more.

Wildfox Summer 2012- Sirene:: Makena:: Big Beach

From the Wildfox site-

"We all wish we were part of a fairy tale, some magical creature in some great love story.
A little mermaid with pearls in her long pink hair gliding through the warm salty water, in love with some beautiful sailor who she sees on a ship, handsome brown eyes and a different world. Our lives are more similar to fairy tales than we think, and everywhere around us there is magic. White sand that glitters in the sun and gets stuck like diamonds to your skin, sugarcane fields under the clouds that taste sweet in the rain, running barefoot on the hot pavement to meet a boy in town, long days of summer where the moon comes out along with the sun.

Wildfox Summer collection is to be pulled on over a bikini, drying off from the water on a tropical island, sunkissed shoulders and smelling of sunscreen & coconut oil. It is for little mermaids everywhere who belive in their own fairy tale coming true."

I JUST LOVE THIS SHOOT!! I have been anxiously awaiting it since I saw a photo post on Wildfox a bit ago... my Mom and Aunt live pretty close to Makena aka Big Beach in Kihei Maui and I knew that they had done a shoot there... It is my favorite beach on Maui... the water is just so turquoise & warm! Swooning! Big Ups to the girls at Wilfox for making dreams come true for all of us mermaid lovers.

Hawaiian Healing

I can't tell you guys enough how blessed I feel to have family in Hawaii and how much aloha they really have. I spent 10 magical days on the Island of Maui and took some photos to share with you. Life is pretty simple once you start seeing the beauty in it. Sometimes, we all just need a vacation to see that beauty.

RVCA on Da Northshore

Danny Fuller creates a sick video of the RVCA team on the Northshore of Oahu this winter. Not only does Fuller have a artistic side to him, but he charges the gnarliest waviest out there. Hope you enjoy it.

North Shore Artist:: Mary Beth

While on the North Shore of Hawaii last winter, I had the pleasure of stumbling into an amazing art gallery (forgive me I can't find the name anywhere) in Haleiwa. It was there where I re-discovered artist Mary-Beth. I first heard about Mary-Beth from my friend Garrett Iaco. He had this stunning Gwen Stefani portrait that she did and I instantly fell in love with her style. Her talent is so refined and soft, that her pencil marks appear to be air brushed. Here are some of my favorites from her site, I might add that the mini mermaids make excellent gifts! I have Ula (featured below) hanging on my wall so I can always have a piece of the North Shore close to me. Aloha xoxo
