A Case of The Mondays

Some photos I found that I really like .... I  have been sucking at blogging lately and I had to take some time and self reflect. Here are some pictures that have recently inspired me.

I LOVE MERMAIDS! Now and forever! Can we say costume inspiration? I am thinking next year... Loving the netting!
Erin Wasson is a major babe and one of my muses. This photo is rad.

I am determined to get a Husky. A wolf dog as me and my babe call it. Some day soon when I  have the room, but I am getting ancy. How cute are these babies? I am in love.  Ahhh

One another note, Die Antwoord fucking rules. I saw them in SF and shook my butt the whole way through their set. I love their beats and they are funky fresh.

David Choe and The Ninja. I love this friendship they have. It makes me happy.

Happy Monday.

Birds of a Feather

Loving this feather hair piece! It seems that feathers are popular again.... my mom used to rock them in the 70's, maybe if you are lucky I will share her yearbook photo soon :P. There is just something about the way they look against hair that is just so lovely. I went to Treasure Island Music Festival in the Bay Area this past weekend and there were defiantly a lot of feathers! Hoping to make a new clip very soon with some new hawk and owl feathers I was gifted. Can't wait to share!

Illistrate Kate

It is my pleasure to introduce you to my dear friend Katelyn Kunesh  from Chicago, IL. Katelyn and I met while we both were studying in Barcelona, Spain through an abroad program called CIEE. Not only did we travel to some of the most Romantic places in Europe together, but we built an amazing friendship and great memories during our Spanish studies. The first time I realized Katelyn was a skilled artist is when I noticed her handwriting in class. It was, and still is, PERFECT! She showed me some of her drawings and I instantly fell in love. I just did a guest post for her on her blog Illistrate Kate that I hope you enjoy. Please go check out her drawings on her blog!! Thank you so much for the kind words Katelyn.

A Trip to the Hurley Campus

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being personally invited to the Hurley International Headquarters, also referred to as "Campus", by my good friend John-Paul Olson for a model casting. The new Hurley Girl ad campaign is for their demin line and is both print and video, so myself and 5 other girls read a script and took some test shots. Not sure if I got the gig, but either way it was a great experience and I got to meet lots of cool cats! One of Hurley's staff photographers, Derek Bahn, whom has also taken some rad surf photos of my boyfriend Kilian, was on site for the whole day and was gracious enough to send me this test photo. Thank you again Derek!

I also was lucky enough to hang out with artist Jason Maloney all day, who created "Tippsy" (featured above). He is a rad dude and was so nice that he gifted me this cute stuffed animal Tippsy toy. I  have been eyeing this fun elephant from the moment I saw him at Art Shack at the Laguna Beach Art Museum. Thanks again Jason!
I also got some cool new threads !! Thanks again to everyone at Hurley and especially my friend JP!

Torn by Ronny Kobo for The Mountain

While speaking with Canadian Skater Jordan Hoffart today, I got an amazing tip on rad tee-shirt collaboration. Ronny Kobo and artist The Mountain have teamed up to produce Torn, and boy do I want EVERY single tee-shirt! I was noticing Jordan's new tattoo of a wolf and that is were the conversation started. Thank you Hoff! These shirts look so comfy ! But if you can't hack the $88 price tag, I would opt for The Moutain's personal site for tees retailing at $25, then you can cut them up and make them fit a little cuter.

Pictures are better than words sometimes

Everyone has a different blogging style, some people like to write, others video blogs, and some people just like to post photos are let those speak for themselves. As an artist, my eyes go nuts over pleasing imagery. At times, I can't help but just stare because I enjoy the way something looks. I just happen to enjoy my visual sense more than my other 4 senses at times. Strong images give you a feeling inside that touches your soul. Here are some photos/ art I enjoyed recently. My mind jumps around a lot and it is hard to focus on one category or theme because I feel they are all connected at some level. And yes, I am always inspired by hot girls. I love muses.

The Annual Malibu Invitational

A couple of weeks ago, one of my favorite surf contests was held at First Point in Malibu, Ca. For the past three years, the Annual Malibu Invitational was held to help out Lyon Herron battle his fight with Garner's Syndrome. The community's efforts paid off and now Lyon is tumor free. This year, the event was held to benefit Malibu born and raised local, Jimmy Gamboa's & his wife's foundation TheraSURF. TheraSURF helps heal children with special needs by taking them into the ocean to catch some waves and enjoy the ocean. TheraSURF focuses a close attention to the intimate involvement with each kid and their families and close friends so all can share in the healing of the ocean together. Although I did not have the pleasure surfing with these kids individually, I can tell you first hand from the beach that they joy on their faces is so inspiring. It makes me so happy to see such an amazing event take place and see a community working so closely with each other. TheraSURF is truly inspiring. For more pictures of ThereSURF please go to the link above. Besides benefiting an awesome cause, the Invitational always has good weather, great people, & tasty waves for the surfers to enjoy. Thanks to Chappy for inviting my boyfriend to compete. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Kiehl's Argan Oil

I was first introduced to this new (or old I guess) beauty product through my friend Kat on a recent trip to Mexico for my friend's bachelorette party. I always love putting oil directly onto my skin after a nice shower, but when I heard about this multi-purpose oil and had the pleasure of lathering my skin up, I think I am officially making the switch from plain lavender baby oil to Kiehl's Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil

From their site:

Our multi-purpose restorative dry oil for the face, body and hair utilizes Moroccan Argan Oil and naturally derived emollients, enriched with antioxidants and essential fatty acids. This formulation helps to smooth skin and hair while providing a healthy looking radiant sheen. Applied to skin, our instantly absorbed dry oil leaves a silky feel and helps improve its appearance and texture. Used on hair, this uniquely versatile formula helps to smooth split ends and helps restore vitality to damaged hair.

YES YES YES!! Anything with Antioxidants is am amazing and the fact that I can use it on my hair is a major plus since my hair is long and needs speical care. Good stuff!! xoxo

Jalama

A couple of weekends ago my boyfriend Kilian and I went camping at Jalama Beach <3 I absolutely love camping in the summer time, especially with my sweetie. We spent two nights at our campsite and filled our days with surfing, filming, tri-tip, sunshine, bikinis, the general store, and plain relaxing. Can't wait to go back up. xox
