Wildfox Summer 2012- Sirene:: Makena:: Big Beach
From the Wildfox site-
"We all wish we were part of a fairy tale, some magical creature in some great love story.
A little mermaid with pearls in her long pink hair gliding through the warm salty water, in love with some beautiful sailor who she sees on a ship, handsome brown eyes and a different world. Our lives are more similar to fairy tales than we think, and everywhere around us there is magic. White sand that glitters in the sun and gets stuck like diamonds to your skin, sugarcane fields under the clouds that taste sweet in the rain, running barefoot on the hot pavement to meet a boy in town, long days of summer where the moon comes out along with the sun.
Wildfox Summer collection is to be pulled on over a bikini, drying off from the water on a tropical island, sunkissed shoulders and smelling of sunscreen & coconut oil. It is for little mermaids everywhere who belive in their own fairy tale coming true."

FIN: A C.R. Stecyk III Film
Bones Brigade: An Autobiography By Stacy Peralta
This past Thursday was a night I will never forget! It was the second showing, after the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, of the skateboarding documentary The Bones Brigade: An Autobiography by the one and only Stacy Peralta. The Santa Barbara Film Festival welcomed Stacy's new flick into this year event and I am more than happy to say it was well received. Skate One (also known as Powell-Peralta Skateboards) had about 300 guests in town for this event and I was on board to host skateboarding's finest industry representatives and some of the biggest names in professional skateboarding history. Here are some of Kilian and I's pictures of the event and I have listed some more press and their links below. Thank you to everyone who came up to watch the film and helped with this amazing production.

8 Things I learned at the Martin Scorsese Santa Barbara Film Festival Event
This year, I have been extraordinary lucky to attend many culturally and creatively deep events at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. Perhaps the high light of my experience during this year's Santa Barbara Film Festival has got to be a night with the legendary film director Martin Scorsese for the presentation of the prestigious American Riviera Award. They started off the evening with a montage of his film career that included hand picked clips by Scorsese himself including Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Hugo in 3-D, Street Scenes, & Raging Bull. If you are not familiar with Scorsese's work, make sure to watch catch up on Casino, The Departed, Gangs of New York, & many more.
Here are a couple of things I took away from the event:
1. Martin is a Roman Catholic Italian from New York City. I learned that this why I love a lot of his movies so much and why my family also adores them, as my father's family is from Long Island, NY, Italian, and Catholic- hence the reason I was so culturally inspired, his stories reminded my of my Italian family.
I took away many things over the course of the three hour event and I was so inspired that I had to share my new found knowledge and appreciation for the great director here on Mischief.

2. Most of his earlier films were inspired by what was occurring around him on the streets and his personal experiences.
3. Robert Dinero and Martin have know each other since childhood, but realized it a litter later on while have Christmas dinner at a mutual friends house.
4. Martin allows his actors to do improvise at times- to be fully creative in their finest moments on screen- and trust them like Robert Dinero in Taxi Driver... I learned that this scene was improv.
5. Hugo is the first film that Martin has made that is appropriate for his daughter to watch- whom is 12.
6. Hugo is about the birth of film- but incorporates the most modern technologies currently available in the motion picture business.
7. Martin made a documnetary about Italian's in America- and based it off a couple sessions with his parents at their home in NY.
8. Martin is up for 11 Academy awards this year including Best Picture and Best Director.

Santa Barbara Film Festival Opening Night
Santa Barbara has a long history of being a key player in the motion picture and film industry. With a star studded population, Santa Barbara is known for being a quaint place to relax that is a hop, skip, & jump away from Hollywood & Los Angeles. Commonly referred to as the American Rivera, Santa Barbara is host to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival which has established itself as the preeminent Oscar film festival and is two week event that our town anxiously awaits ever year.
It was truly an honor to attend my first opening & red carpet event of the SBFF at the historical Arlington Theatre, graciously invited by my dear friend & Santa Barbara photographer Rachel Moyer. We started off the evening with a quick cocktail at The Marquee and then walked over to the Arlington to watch Diane Keaton & Kevin Kline grace the awaiting crowd of fans for the opening of festival and new film, A Darling Companion.
The Arilgton Theatre is one of the most beautiful places in Santa Barbara.
Show lights lit up the night sky all across town.
Diane Keaton... the VIP of the evening.
Rachel and I found this beautiful couch inside (which I may add is one of many pieces that give The Arligton its flare) and had to take pictures. Rachel is wearing Erin by Erin Fetherston.
I am wearing Versace for H & M
My partner in crime!
Sold out show.
The cast of A Darling Companion on stage for intros.
Patrick Moyer and Rachel Moyer at the SBFF Gala Opening Event at Paseo Nuevo.
At the Gala, there were two DJ's, a live band, and an open bar for the entire party (like 10), along with horderves from some of the best restaurants in town (there is too many to count!)
Photo booth fun :)
A photo I snagged off the SBFF website from the opening night Gala event at Paseo Nuevo.
All in all, the evening was one to remember and I felt so honored to attend! The Film Festival is a truly amazing event and filled with culture and creativity... all things Santa Barbara!

Santa Barbara Events
Two Santa Barbara events you do not want to miss!
It is finally done. Stacy Peralta's latest film... The Bones Brigade: An Autobiography.
As a Santa Barbara native, I was always surrounded by skateboarding and surfing. There is just something about this town that breads this creatively infused lifestyle. As many of you may or may not know, Powell-Peralta is a local Santa Barbara company that has deep routs in the skateboard industry. When I say deep, I mean DEEP. The Bones Brigade docmentary is "an emotional, intimate, and exciting film about a group of dorky American boys who turned skateboarding from a fringe pastime to a thrilling action sport and a multi-million dollar industry." It currently is at Sundance in Utah and then the second showing in its history will be at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. If you thinking about watching this flick, I strongly suggest you get there early. Red Carpet event starts at 7 PM Thursday February 2, 2012 at The Arlingon Theatre. Tommy Guerro, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, Stacy Peralta and George Powell have all confirmed their attendance and a Q & A will be held after the show. Tony Hawk will unfortunately be out of the country and will not be able to attend. Hope to see you there!
And just as exciting is this years 2012 Quicksilver Rincon Classic presented by Channel Islands Surfboards! I love this event because it always brings together Santa Barbara's amazing surfing community and talent for a fun weekend at my favorite beach. The event was scheduled for this weekend, but due to rain it will be postponed so please check out the Surf Happens facebook page for more info or the site.
Hope to see you there!

Mission Canyon Oak Trees:: The October Union Part 4
Hello friends. Hope 2012 has been finding you well. Excuse my lack of posts lately... I have had bloggers block and I am working on a new direction for Mischief for 2012. I would love to hear your thoughts and what you like the most about Mischief... please email me. I would greatly appreciate it.
This is the last installment of my photoshoot with The October Union and I hope to work with Kimmy more on her projects in the future. Again, big thanks to my trusted photographer Rachel Moyer for capturing such amazing flicks.
California in the winter time is truly magical. The oak trees are perhaps one of my favorite parts of living in Santa Barbara...
