Probably the coolest thing you and I will read today, that is, if you enjoy skateboarding and fashion as much as I do! Big CONGRATS to STOP IT RIGHT NOW's Jayne Min for her collaborations with the biggest names in fashion and her new series of decks... that are featured in the SEPTEMBER Issue of VOGUE. Gosh that is rad.
Every year, tens and thousands of teeny bops, surf fanatics, skate rats, and industry representatives gather to celebrate surfings most lucrative ASP event in Huntington Beach, CA :: THE US OPEN OF SURING! Hosted by the king of all sports brands (and child labor) NIKE, the event really gets better ever year with more money pumping into the contest. This year was my first experience at the US Open and it was a great one! Kilian and I took some time to meet up with my cousin Rebecca and her boyfriend Troy and headed down to the beach to watch all the action. I am bummed that Dane didn't win but happy that Julian held it down over Brazil. USA BABY. Big congrats to Montecito locals Lakey Peterson and Conner Coffin. You make our town proud! Other than the surfing, it was awesome to watch the skaters shred the Coastal Carnage bowl that Conversase (NIKE) put up. Congrats to BONES rider Ben Raybourn!

Check out the new trailer for the film Chasing Mavericks featuring my buddy Taylor Handley, whom plays one of Jay's friends, and my boyfriend Kilian Garland as a stunt man! The story (which is based of the truth) revolves around a young Santa Cruz local, Jay Moriarity, whom risked his life at Maverick's surfing and his heroic tale in which he tragically died in a diving accident in 1991.
Camping is one of my all time favorite things to do. A couple of days ago, my buddy Patrick and his amazing wife Rachel took Kilian and I to the best place to camp right above SB. I would tell you where it is but then I wouldn't really be a local now would I?
Enjoy the pics I took, I am getting back into my photography! xo
Perhaps one of my favorite events all year, Billabong's Design for Humanity at Paramount Studios in LA is always a night to remember. Check out some pics from the event this year.
Beautiful models during the high light of the evening at the fashion show!
In Malibu anytime soon ? Of course you are, it's Summer! Make sure to stop by the Sofia Banana Beat Boutique presented by Sicky Dicky and Banana Beat Records right next to Salvation in the Country Mart Shopping Center on PCH.
Check out some pics from the grand opening party:)
A couple of weeks ago, my friend Adam Mars showcased a collection of new paintings with fellow LA-based artists Michael Brunswick and John Weston in Downtown Los Angeles. The exhibition, entitled TECHNICOLOR EXILE, attracted thousands of people who were eager to view their fresh and exciting work. Here are a few pics from the show. Enjoy!
Check out this art show I helped assist with at Neff Headwear. It also happened to be hosted and curated by The Seventh Letter, whom I have been a huge fan of for the past six years, so needless to say, this was a huge deal for me. The theme of the show was Sesame Street, in which every artist illustrated/ painted/ collaged/ created their own rendition of their favorite 80's characters. I am also happy to note that a large percentage of all the work sold at the show (everything sold btw) will be donated to the City of Hope's Pediatrics department. The event turned out so amazing, I can't thank everyone whom was involved enough. Special thanks to Aaron Levant and Tal Cooperman for all their hard work curating the show and Neff Headwear for making it happen!
Big shout out to my homie Samir on his pieces in the show! Stoked to kick it finally!!!
Thank you to the lovely ladies from Sesame Street for flying all the way out to Cali for this event!
